Third time through and still those Braxton Hicks can fool you. "Whoa...is this going somewhere? Is this it...?" Nope. "Sigh."
Of course, I desperately don't want to work another twelve hour shift so I keep hoping against hope that this kid will come early.

Beyond boilerplate
So for the purposes of leave, my company covers maternity leave under the short term disability insurance. Nice thing is this means I get paid for taking it. Which is awesome as it isn't required. This did mean I had to call into the insurance management and open a claim so that it was in their system and ready for when I do give birth ( Read more... ) -

For the life of me I can't remember if and when the baby dropped last time. I'm sure it did and it would be very helpful to know as this one dropped last week sometime. Hmmmm.

An almost very large OOPS
Started feeling peckish around 11 so left for lunch at 11:30. Grabbed a quick bite, stopped and checked the mail and then headed back towards work. Third time around
It just occurred to me there's something I remember worrying about the first pregnancy and maybe even the second that I haven't thought of even once until now. Worry about baby moving enough. Some days you just have to get up, get moving, and do things. I've got vague snippets of an old song (Lay Your Burden Down) floating through my head and it's making me feel all weepy because right now there's nothing I'd like more than just to stop doing everything and hide. Awesome
We're showing The Electric Company to the kids for the first time tonight. They're riveted. It's awesome to see them enjoy it as much as I remember enjoying it.

The things we do for our kids...
Like consider taking the plunge and buying a duplex in the middle of suburbia. I love living out of town. I love living in the hills, above the ice fog, above the inversion layer. Seeing the stars and the aurora in all their glory unpolluted by city lights. I love the privacy of being in the middle of 9 acres of trees. I love wood fires built ( Read more... )
