Summary: Donghae's mom adopted a brother to him, but he was some kind of special.
Donghae didn't know why he was entering in that big place with his mother nor why was this place so full of kids. With his 7 years old experience he could well to tell it was a school, and probably a complete one as he could see some rooms with beds on while he passed holding his mother's hand. Donghae was sure, while he kept holding his orange plush fish, that his dad would tell him what he was doing there. But thinking on this remembered the young boy that he didn't see his dad for some months already.
"Donghae?" Looking up to his mother's voice, Donghae noticed that they stopped walking and were in front of a closed door. "I want you to meet someone."
"Who?" Donghae asked with a smile rising in his lips.
"He has your age and you two would probably go along well."
"Where can I find him?" the young boy asked getting a little excited.
"Here in his room." She pointed and Donghae looked to the door that they were stopped in front. "I already saw him and was with him, but I want you to meet him too."
"Who is him?"
"His name is Eunhyuk and he is a kid from this orphanage."
"orphanage? What is it mom?" Donghae asked getting confused.
"When kids don't have places to go anymore." Donghae's mom starts to say getting on her knees and locking her eyes with Donghae. "They stay here where some families can bring them to their houses. Mom've been thinking a lot and I thought it would be cool if we help at least one of those kids. So are you in?"
"Of course I'm in." The boy smiled and went to the door. "Is here that he..."
"Calm down Donghae." the woman said getting the boy before he even reached the door. "It's a little more complicate."
"Why?" Donghae pouted.
"Eunhyuk passed through some hard things, so one thing that you must to know before meet him is that he doesn't talk."
"He doesn't?" Donghae asked with big eyes. "Not even a word? Why?"
"Because of a trauma that he got some time ago. So you need to be patient so he can speak with us."
"I get it." Donghae whispered hugging his plush even more thinking of what could make this boy get a trauma so big that he couldn't speak anymore. Looking to his mother's face, Donghae saw her smile as a sign to he get inside of the room, and was what he did leaving his mother outside.
Entering shyly in the room, Donghae's eyes ran trought the little things in the bedroom, a small cabinet followed to a simple nightstand under a window and a bed with a boy sat on it. Donghae thought that the boy was like some angel or something, because his skin was so white and shining more than the sun's light and because the boy's face looked so unique and beautifully structured with those full pink lips.
"Hi." Donghae greeted getting the boy's attention and seeing him get a little scared. "I'm Donghae." the quiet boy just smiled, but it made Donghae relieved for not getting negative responses. "My mom told me you're Eunhyuk."
The said boy just broke their gaze and nodded shyly then letting his eyes stop in the fish that Donghae was holding.
"Can we play?" Donghae asked a little more happy and sitting beside Eunhyuk. After Eunhyuk pointed to his nightstand, Donghae went there and opened the drawer seeing some little balls and puzzles. "Do you want to play it?" Eunhyuk nodded shyly and Donghae took the puzzle putting it in the floor where the both sat.
The two started to play, Donghae the only one talking nonstop, like always, but he didn't mind anymore since Eunhyuk was actually playing with him. But when just half of the puzzle was done, Donghae's mom showed up in the door smiling to the two kids.
"Donghae? We should leave now."
"But can I get back tomorrow?" Donghae asked pouting.
"Of course. I think Eunhyuk will enjoy it. " she said getting a nod from the said boy.
"Ok then." Donghae said raising from the floor and taking his fish plush with him. "Bye Eunhyuk."
And after Donghae left, Eunhyuk lay in his bed leaving the unfinished puzzle there and feeling himself lonely again.

In the other day Donghae showed up in Eunhyuk's bedroom again and in this time with some toys he picked up in his house, but soon that Eunhyuk saw Donghae, he jumped from his bed and sat in the floor in front of the still not finished puzzle.
"I came with some of my toys today." Donghae said happily letting the toys in the bed and not noticing the puzzle still there. "They are one of my favorite toys."
Eunhyuk shook his head and pointed to the puzzle, but Donghae was still looking to his toys, probably trying to find some one, until that Eunhyuk got up from the floor and pulled Donghae to the front of the left toy again.
"Puzzle again?" Donghae asked confused getting a nod from the other boys. "But and all those toys I brought?" and all that Donghae got from Eunhyuk were pleading eyes and he just couldn't say no. "Ok then, we can finish it and then play with my toys." Donghae smiled and started to play with the other boy, he was happy to at least have some one in his age.

After three days, which passed quickly, Donghae got the news that Eunhyuk was finally going to his house, and the boy couldn't be happier. Donghae was so happy that in all they way to their house he kept on talking about his neighborhood and singing random songs in the car. But Eunhyuk couldn't ever think that all that talk was boring him, because in other way, it was making him smile while watching Donghae.
And soon they were in front of Donghae's house. It didn't remember Eunhyuk, at all, his old house, neither the orphanage, and because of this the he felt a little light in his chest. When Eunhyuk entered in the house, all that he could feel was that everything was cozy, warm and colorful, but before he could keep admiring the house, Donghae pulled him to show his, now their, room.
"This room was just mine, but now my mom bought this bed, so you can sleep here." Donghae said showing the bed in the left corner of the room and then sitting in his bed, in the other side. "This is my bed, and I can share all the toys that I have." he said raising and showing his toys inside of the closet in the middle of their beds. "And I choose it for you." Donghae smiled and turned again to Eunhyuk, who was in the door still, showing a fish plush. "You never said which animal you like, but as I like fishes I thought you would like too." he smiled more and gave it to Eunhyuk who took it and kept on staring to the blue fish plush. "Didn't you like it?" Donghae asked concerned.
Eunhyuk just nodded, still expressionless, but when his gaze left the fish plush, something got his attention in the closet and Donghae, always noticing any sign Eunhyuk could give, looked there too and smiled.
Donghae walked there and took another plush, this time a monkey one and gave it to Eunhyuk.
"So you like monkeys, right?" Donghae smiled and received a nod from Eunhyuk who exchanged the fish for the monkey and bowed thanking for the other boy.
First, Eunhyuk was happy that he could have a monkey plush.
And second, Eunhyuk was even happier because it's been too much time since someone gave him a present.

It's been two months already since Eunhyuk moved to Donghae's house and their relationship only gets bigger. But one thing still hasn't change, Eunhyuk didn't talk a single word yet.
And by the time passed Donghae's mom got each time anxious and worried for why the boy wasn't speaking yet.
But when Eunhyuk's second month came, they decided to make a little party in their house, just the three of them, but Eunhyuk couldn't stop laughing while watching his mother, as she asked him to think of her, baking a cake for him.
And when the night came the three of them were around the table with a simple cake on it. Eunhyuk felt even warmer and smiled widely when he blew the candle and Donghae and his mom were clapping their hands and smiling to him and then cutting the cake.
"You two should go to sleep already." Donghae's mom said after they finished their cakes. "School tomorrow." And kissed both of the boy's forehead.
"I'll get first in the bathroom!" Donghae screamed and ran to the said place before Eunhyuk get to register what he was saying and run behind him.
The two boys brushed their teeth, went to their bedroom, put their pajamas, lay in their bed and after Donghae saying 'Good night and sweet dreams', the both felt asleep almost instantly.
But after one hour or so, Donghae woke up feeling his mouth dry and decided to go to the kitchen to take some water, so he raised from the bed trying not to make noise and wake up Eunhyuk, and before leaving the room, Donghae looked back to Eunhyuk's bed and smiled when he saw that the boy was still asleep. But when Donghae was going to pass from the TV room to the kitchen, he heard his mom talking in the phone, and if he hadn't listen Eunhyuk's name, he wouldn't just freeze in the place.
"I don't know what I do anymore Sunkyu. It's been two months and Eunhyuk didn't say anything yet." a pause and Donghae heard his mom sniffing for a while. "But it breaks my heart Sunkyu. I know that seeing his own parents being killed in front of him it's hard, but it feels as if I couldn't help him."
Donghae just stood there, millions of thoughts running in his mind, but the one that he followed was to see if Eunhyuk was still sleeping. But when he moved, he saw Eunhyuk standing behind him, his face all wet and Donghae got in panic and hugged him trying to comfort the boy, but the sobs started to get harder and louder, so Donghae took Eunhyuk to their bedroom again and lay the boy in the first bed he saw.
"Don't cry." Donghae whispered passing his hand in Eunhyuk's shoulder, but the boy took the other's hand and pulled him closer, so Donghae had to lay in the bed beside Eunhyuk. "Calm down."
"D-Donghae..." Eunhyuk whimpered and although Donghae was feeling a hold in his throat for seeing the other boy like this, his heart lightened a little when he heard for the first time Eunhyuk saying, specially because it was his name.
"I'm here, calm down." Donghae whispered again hugging the boy. Eunhyuk kept crying, but after that he put his head in Donghae's collarbone and started to smell that scent, his heart got calmer and his sobs slowed down while pulling Donghae closer. "Let's just sleep." Donghae whispered again still passing his hand in the back of the other boy. And as the minutes passed and Eunhyuk's sobs were disappearing, the two boys slept still hugging each other.

It passed two weeks since what happened in that night and since then Donghae wouldn't ever be seen away from Eunhyuk and did his all to cheer up the boy. Although Eunhyuk didn't say anything anymore, Donghae was still happy about those few seconds. But all that Donghae's mom saw, was that Eunhyuk's mood went high and he was smiling almost all the time, and it was making her happy.
But after those two weeks, Eunhyuk started to have nightmares. Not that he told Donghae that it was just repeated images of his parents being killed, but Donghae could see it was a bad nightmare for the whimpers coming from the other bed at night followed with the boy moving nonstop and sweating too much.
Night by night Donghae would go to Eunhyuk's bed, while he was still sleeping and just hug the boy, wishing that he could just protect the older. But always in the mornings, Donghae would wake up first and wake Eunhyuk with a bright smile, as if he didn't see anything that happened in the night and try to make each of Eunhyuk's day the best and brightest.

"Donghae? Did you forget what day is today?" Donghae's mom asked entering in the room of her, now, two sons seeing both playing puzzles.
"Day 12?" Donghae asked smiling to her and then looking again to the puzzle.
"Donghae. Today you'll sleep in your dad's house." She sighed.
"But I don't see him since months!"
"I know, but he called last month and we've talked about that already, so get ready, he'll be here in about two hours." she said and left the room.
"I don't like going there." Donghae whispered trying to find an specific place for one peace of the puzzle, but Eunhyk held his hand and made Donghae look at him. His eyes were big, as if he could cry anytime, but Donghae knew what he was meaning. "You'll have to sleep alone today." Eunhyuk tightened his hold in Donghae's hand. "I'm sorry Eunhyuk. But tomorrow in the afternoon I'll be back." Another strong hold and Eunhyuk was almost crying. "If you don't feel so well you can go to our mom's room, she'll calm you." Eunhyuk then left Donghae's hand, but just looked blankly to the floor while Donghe raised and started to get some clothes so he could go to his dad's house.
But before Donghae could finish taking his clothes, he had an idea when he looked to his plush fish above his bed.
"Eunhyuk," Donghae called the boy who was still playing with the puzzle. "look, you can sleep with my fish tonight, so you can feel a little better. And while I sleep in my dad's house, I'll be with that blue plush fish, ok?" the younger said smiling and sat in front of the boy giving his fish to him. Eunhyuk just smiled and hugged a little more the plush, but looked again to Donghae with pleading eyes. "Everything will be fine." and Donghae hugged Eunhyuk.
Those two hours passed too fast for Eunhyuk and he thought it was unfair. He couldn't lie, he was scared of sleeping alone and just for waking up after an awful nightmare together with Donghae, made Eunhyuk feel more protected. And before he could notice, Donghae was walking away through the front door and entering in a car while he still hugged Donghae's plush fish.
"Eunhyuk, do you want to watch some movie with mom?" Donghae's, his mom, he corrected in his mind, told him smiling while closing the door. "We still have strawberry ice cream and popcorn."
Eunhyuk just nodded at her smiling a little, of course that they could spend some time together and have fun, in the end Eunhyuk still loved her a lot.

It was a total of two movies one full pot of strawberry ice cream and two round of popcorn followed with laughs with both movies. They were already tired of the laughing and eating time and when she looked to the clock and saw how late it was, she sent Eunhyuk to wash his teeth and go to bed after kissing his forehead and wishing good night.
Eunhyuk was happy, because his new mom was a lot look-a-like with Donghae when is about having fun and making him smile, and after he thought about it and got in the restroom, alone, he noticed that he was missing Donghae although it passed only a few hours since he left.
After changing his clothes and laying in the bed, Eunhyuk felt himself alone again, just like when he was in the orphanage, but there was still a little change, the room still looked like Donghae's (although now it looked with Eunhyuk's too) and that he was still hugging the plush fish tightly. But all that make him to miss more and more Donghae and so he took hours and hours to finally sleep.
Eunhyuk was right that this would happen ever since he could close his eyes. He knew that he would re-watch every single thing that happened two years ago. And there he was, looking to his young self crying under the bed while his mom was screaming outside along with his dad. Eunhyuk wanted to help his parents, even if it was only a dream, and he tried again to walk to the door, but it was impossible, his feet couldn't move. Not at all. But out of sudden, the nightmare changed, the first change after so many nights of it. Two more screams were added in the dream, and Eunhyuk didn't have to think too much to notice that one of them were Donghae's screams. Eunhyuk tried with all his will to run out of the door, but his body wouldn't move an inch and out of sudden the dream went all black and white and mute for one moment and then Eunhyuk noticed that he was holding Donghae plush fish, the only colorful thing in the dream, and so he hugged the plush with all his might.
After shutting his eyes and opening again, Eunhyuk saw his and Donghae's bedroom again and he knew he wasn't sleeping anymore after seeing Donghae's plush in his arms and noticing that his face was totally wet from crying and that his throat looked as if being squished.
"D-Dong.. hae." Eunhyuk whimpered hugging the plush closer and sobbing silently so he wouldn't wake up his mom.

Eunhyuk couldn't stop looking to the clock and keep stop since the last night, he had already lunched and was with him mom in the tv room, but he was still raising from the couch, looking to the kitchen's clock and then to the window and seeing the empty street. If a car passed through the street, Eunhyuk would be already there, hoping it was Donghae's dad car, but still nothing.
"Eunhyuk, calm down a little." His mom said laughing when he jumped to the window when a car passed in the street. "He will get home soon."
Eunhyuk just sighed, his mom didn't know how much he wanted Donghae right now, how much he needed him. But when he was going to the couch once again, he saw a black car stopping in front of their house and Donghae leaving it. Eunhyuk just smiled widely and ran to the front door and when he opened it Donghae was already there and the first thing Eunhyuk did was to hug him harder that he could ever do.
"Hi Donghae. Eunhyuk was really missing you." their mom said smiling and after looking to the both boys, she saw that Donghae's dad was still in front of the house and went to talk with him. "I'll be back soon."
"Eunhyuk, calm down." Donghae laughed a little and tried to walk a little, only getting a few steps together with Eunhyuk. But then Donghae felt his shirt get wet and noticed that Eunhyuk was crying and shaking in his shoulder.
"D-Dong... h-hae. D-Don't... l-lea.. ve m-me.. again." Eunhyuk whimpered and Donghae didn't know if he was stuttering because of the sobs or because there were probably years since he last talk this much.
"I won't Eunhyuk." Donghae said passing his hand in the boy's back and hugging him tightly. "I won't leave you."
"P-please. I-I l-love you." Eunhyuk whimpered again sobbing harder.
Donghae, in the other hand, felt his heart gets lighter and a cool feeling playing in his stomach.
"I-I love you too." Donghae whispered still hugging the boy and then kissing the older's cheek.
Eunhyuk felt a warm coming from his cheek and left a little Donghae only to look at him, with his eyes, now big and red, and got closer once again, but this time to touch lightly their lips.
"T-Thank you." Eunhyuk whispered after he left Donghae's lips and then the younger smiled at him, one of those smiles that made him feel as if everything would be always fine.
"You'll be fine now."

"I'm here, calm down." Donghae whispered again hugging the boy. Eunhyuk kept crying, but after that he put his head in Donghae's collarbone and started to smell that scent, his heart got calmer and his sobs slowed down while pulling Donghae closer. "Let's just sleep." Donghae whispered again still passing his hand in the back of the other boy. And as the minutes passed and Eunhyuk's sobs were disappearing, the two boys slept still hugging each other.

It passed two weeks since what happened in that night and since then Donghae wouldn't ever be seen away from Eunhyuk and did his all to cheer up the boy. Although Eunhyuk didn't say anything anymore, Donghae was still happy about those few seconds. But all that Donghae's mom saw, was that Eunhyuk's mood went high and he was smiling almost all the time, and it was making her happy.
But after those two weeks, Eunhyuk started to have nightmares. Not that he told Donghae that it was just repeated images of his parents being killed, but Donghae could see it was a bad nightmare for the whimpers coming from the other bed at night followed with the boy moving nonstop and sweating too much.
Night by night Donghae would go to Eunhyuk's bed, while he was still sleeping and just hug the boy, wishing that he could just protect the older. But always in the mornings, Donghae would wake up first and wake Eunhyuk with a bright smile, as if he didn't see anything that happened in the night and try to make each of Eunhyuk's day the best and brightest.

"Donghae? Did you forget what day is today?" Donghae's mom asked entering in the room of her, now, two sons seeing both playing puzzles.
"Day 12?" Donghae asked smiling to her and then looking again to the puzzle.
"Donghae. Today you'll sleep in your dad's house." She sighed.
"But I don't see him since months!"
"I know, but he called last month and we've talked about that already, so get ready, he'll be here in about two hours." she said and left the room.
"I don't like going there." Donghae whispered trying to find an specific place for one peace of the puzzle, but Eunhyk held his hand and made Donghae look at him. His eyes were big, as if he could cry anytime, but Donghae knew what he was meaning. "You'll have to sleep alone today." Eunhyuk tightened his hold in Donghae's hand. "I'm sorry Eunhyuk. But tomorrow in the afternoon I'll be back." Another strong hold and Eunhyuk was almost crying. "If you don't feel so well you can go to our mom's room, she'll calm you." Eunhyuk then left Donghae's hand, but just looked blankly to the floor while Donghe raised and started to get some clothes so he could go to his dad's house.
But before Donghae could finish taking his clothes, he had an idea when he looked to his plush fish above his bed.
"Eunhyuk," Donghae called the boy who was still playing with the puzzle. "look, you can sleep with my fish tonight, so you can feel a little better. And while I sleep in my dad's house, I'll be with that blue plush fish, ok?" the younger said smiling and sat in front of the boy giving his fish to him. Eunhyuk just smiled and hugged a little more the plush, but looked again to Donghae with pleading eyes. "Everything will be fine." and Donghae hugged Eunhyuk.
Those two hours passed too fast for Eunhyuk and he thought it was unfair. He couldn't lie, he was scared of sleeping alone and just for waking up after an awful nightmare together with Donghae, made Eunhyuk feel more protected. And before he could notice, Donghae was walking away through the front door and entering in a car while he still hugged Donghae's plush fish.
"Eunhyuk, do you want to watch some movie with mom?" Donghae's, his mom, he corrected in his mind, told him smiling while closing the door. "We still have strawberry ice cream and popcorn."
Eunhyuk just nodded at her smiling a little, of course that they could spend some time together and have fun, in the end Eunhyuk still loved her a lot.

It was a total of two movies one full pot of strawberry ice cream and two round of popcorn followed with laughs with both movies. They were already tired of the laughing and eating time and when she looked to the clock and saw how late it was, she sent Eunhyuk to wash his teeth and go to bed after kissing his forehead and wishing good night.
Eunhyuk was happy, because his new mom was a lot look-a-like with Donghae when is about having fun and making him smile, and after he thought about it and got in the restroom, alone, he noticed that he was missing Donghae although it passed only a few hours since he left.
After changing his clothes and laying in the bed, Eunhyuk felt himself alone again, just like when he was in the orphanage, but there was still a little change, the room still looked like Donghae's (although now it looked with Eunhyuk's too) and that he was still hugging the plush fish tightly. But all that make him to miss more and more Donghae and so he took hours and hours to finally sleep.
Eunhyuk was right that this would happen ever since he could close his eyes. He knew that he would re-watch every single thing that happened two years ago. And there he was, looking to his young self crying under the bed while his mom was screaming outside along with his dad. Eunhyuk wanted to help his parents, even if it was only a dream, and he tried again to walk to the door, but it was impossible, his feet couldn't move. Not at all. But out of sudden, the nightmare changed, the first change after so many nights of it. Two more screams were added in the dream, and Eunhyuk didn't have to think too much to notice that one of them were Donghae's screams. Eunhyuk tried with all his will to run out of the door, but his body wouldn't move an inch and out of sudden the dream went all black and white and mute for one moment and then Eunhyuk noticed that he was holding Donghae plush fish, the only colorful thing in the dream, and so he hugged the plush with all his might.
After shutting his eyes and opening again, Eunhyuk saw his and Donghae's bedroom again and he knew he wasn't sleeping anymore after seeing Donghae's plush in his arms and noticing that his face was totally wet from crying and that his throat looked as if being squished.
"D-Dong.. hae." Eunhyuk whimpered hugging the plush closer and sobbing silently so he wouldn't wake up his mom.

Eunhyuk couldn't stop looking to the clock and keep stop since the last night, he had already lunched and was with him mom in the tv room, but he was still raising from the couch, looking to the kitchen's clock and then to the window and seeing the empty street. If a car passed through the street, Eunhyuk would be already there, hoping it was Donghae's dad car, but still nothing.
"Eunhyuk, calm down a little." His mom said laughing when he jumped to the window when a car passed in the street. "He will get home soon."
Eunhyuk just sighed, his mom didn't know how much he wanted Donghae right now, how much he needed him. But when he was going to the couch once again, he saw a black car stopping in front of their house and Donghae leaving it. Eunhyuk just smiled widely and ran to the front door and when he opened it Donghae was already there and the first thing Eunhyuk did was to hug him harder that he could ever do.
"Hi Donghae. Eunhyuk was really missing you." their mom said smiling and after looking to the both boys, she saw that Donghae's dad was still in front of the house and went to talk with him. "I'll be back soon."
"Eunhyuk, calm down." Donghae laughed a little and tried to walk a little, only getting a few steps together with Eunhyuk. But then Donghae felt his shirt get wet and noticed that Eunhyuk was crying and shaking in his shoulder.
"D-Dong... h-hae. D-Don't... l-lea.. ve m-me.. again." Eunhyuk whimpered and Donghae didn't know if he was stuttering because of the sobs or because there were probably years since he last talk this much.
"I won't Eunhyuk." Donghae said passing his hand in the boy's back and hugging him tightly. "I won't leave you."
"P-please. I-I l-love you." Eunhyuk whimpered again sobbing harder.
Donghae, in the other hand, felt his heart gets lighter and a cool feeling playing in his stomach.
"I-I love you too." Donghae whispered still hugging the boy and then kissing the older's cheek.
Eunhyuk felt a warm coming from his cheek and left a little Donghae only to look at him, with his eyes, now big and red, and got closer once again, but this time to touch lightly their lips.
"T-Thank you." Eunhyuk whispered after he left Donghae's lips and then the younger smiled at him, one of those smiles that made him feel as if everything would be always fine.
"You'll be fine now."
