I'm slowly working my way out of this funk I've fallen into of late. It's like clockwork, this feeling. I try to brace myself for it before leaving for my dad's house, but the aura surrounding fundamentalism is so overpowering ( Read more... )

One cannot reason with a fundamentalist. This is like saying one can reason with a book. For all fundamentalists ultimately ascribe their consciences to a book, to a dogma, and shut out the rest of reality.

I have no answers for you, my friend, but allow me to express my complete admiration for what you are considering.

And yes: pacifism can only go so far.

Yeah. She did.

I remember seeing her wedding pic in the paper. Her eyes. Infinite sadness behind a smile and veil. I'll never forget them.
