I've been mentally wrestling with the dividing line between hateful speech and deliberate incitement of violence. I don't want them getting a permit to "rally" at a national park in San Francisco, because there will be violence -- and quite possibly deaths. But that incitement will be in the form of hateful speech, symbols, and an obvious preparation for violent conflict...theoretically all protected free speech. So do we let it go on and just wait for the riot?
I don't have answer, because I do understand it cuts both ways.
When a group shows up armed and armored becomes a 2nd Amendment question rather than a 1st. I have very different, and much less definitive ideas on the 2nd Amendment. Honestly that's a debate that I allow others to play out on both sides because I don't feel strongly enough about it to take a stance
