Anyone who told you that life gets easier as you get older is full of shit, or completely in denial. With every life you touch, with every new thought or idea, a new complication is added to your life. Just balancing what you've learned each day takes work, although many don't see it that way.
What is purpose, what is meaning? What is significant to you? You claim to feel the lack of all these things, but these are all abstract philosophical ideas that have different definitions to every person. I think you've done something significant- you taught me many things about being true to your sense of self, and accepting that your idea of "self" can change from day to day, and there's nothing wrong with that. That fierce dichotomies in your personality can be a source of strength.
But how I view significance is different. My daily goal is, "Try to change someone's life for the better today.". Cheesy-yes. Arbitrary and subjective- yes. But it's a step towards defining my own goals for what the hell I'm doing here.

Heres my question what would make you feel differently? You are much stronger than you give yourself credit for. How do people let you down? What could you do to change that? If a person consistently brings you down, and they have negative affects on you stop holding onto them. Sadly, we can't love everyone that is bad for us.. sometimes you need to walk away. Its really hard but sometimes its what you have to do.
What would make yourself feel like you are worth something? What would feel significant to you? There is a beauty and strength inside you, you just have to look for it and let it out. There is a fiercely creative and fantastic individual that you don't see when you look in the mirror, but he's there. He's wonderful.
