The other day I posted about how thrilled I was to complete Silvertaine's quilt top. I have been saving a wool batting that I bought from a local sheep farmer for her quilt. Today I decided that I had the energy to sandwich and pin baste the quilt. (Sandwich= top+batting+backing, Pin Baste=taking safety pins and pinning the layers of the quilt ( Read more... )

That reminds me, I'll need to pick up new pins when I eventually get around to craft-sewing again. The ones I stole from you before I left for PUC have pretty much gone kaput. Still, they lasted through the creation of two full fursuits, so I was impressed. What ultra-strong brand do you look for? The last ones I got were a total waste of money & died on the first pretty much immediately. [Apparently, pins don't like repeatedly digging into duct tape. *smirks*]

I am assuming that you are referring to straight pins? For quilting I get ultra fine pins and those would NOT work for duct tape sewing. ; )

I may still have some of my stronger pins that I could give you since I don't use them.

Yes. Straight pins. They had yellow balls on the ends and were massively difficult to bend. They were AWESOME.
