Wow...um. Huh. Just read an Alan Ball interview where he discussed that the Charlaine Harris books were all about Sookie/Bill and any other characters are secondary to their story. Huh. I didn't get that at all. Not sure what to say since he obviously loves their storyline and there's no way around that. If we ever get a "triangle" or an Eric ( Read more... )

I'm absolutely with you on losing respect for her. I know Bill has excuses but when I consider why she broke it off with Quinn, Bill's excuses are pathetic. I would not say he loves her less than Eric or that he's less manipulative. I believe both vamps love her, I just happen to appreciate Eric's version of love more and find his character more engaging.

I think they are both cunning and manipulative by nature, as they are vampires. They just go about it in different ways. Sookie doesn't trust Eric but he's the one that doesn't lie to her. Perhaps that is his downfall as he does not hide his ruthless or cunning streak in the way Bill does. He doesn't tell her everything and sometimes leads her a merry dance, but he hasn't boldly lied or cowardly run from telling her something painful (I'm especially thinking of the situation where he may have been 'forced' by his maker to go to her side...he still could have told Sookie rather than trying to peddle her off to Eric on the sly).
