Buffy might have just signed herself up for a world of hurt for the next two years. Though she is a smart girl, like Bones said, and will be able to muddle her way through I'm certain. I also like how you're setting her up to be free to join the Enterprise after it's maiden voyage.

Sneaky, sneaky.

I did adore the casual mention that Jim is aware of her actual background. I'm adoring the friendship between her and Jim nearly as much as her relationship with Bones.

"No, I'm not aimin' to let you go anytime soon.” - I might have swooned a little at this line. Just sayin'. ;)

lol, you know she just agreed to that :). Especially when she realizes that despite Jim's great plan, she'll still be there that final year by herself.

And yeah, she'll be on Earth during the Nero stuff and ready to go into space when they actually launch their five year exploration tour. I's crafty like that ;)

And I may write a backstory where she tells Jim about the truth as well, but the prompt this week didn't exactly fit. lol

And I seriously love writing Bones just so I can slip those little southernisms in there every so often. :D

The final year will be good for her since Buffy tends to get down on herself in regards to her intelligence at times. That final year will allow Buffy to prove to herself and others that shes's not resting on Bones' and Jim's laurels.

Nero was a right bastard, but I still kinda felt for him. I don't support what he did, but the movie did allow you to have some emotional attachment to villian. Both did actually. Eric Bana and Benedict Cumberbatch did very well at making unrelatable characters just a smidgen relatable.

Jim deserves his own story. *bounces* Yep!

I like your southernisms. Keep 'em comin'!

Excellent in character with Buffy assuming the worst when Bones starts talking about finishing his time at the Academy.

I kind of love that he is both shallow (My girlfriend is hot!) and convinced that Buffy is smarter than she thinks she is. (Actually I like the latter a lot.)

I kind of love the first movie, so as much as I'm all for Buffy-joins the adventure fics, in this instance I'm perfectly happy to think about Len missing Buffy (and how he'd get to grumble to her about Jim's insanity) and Buffy missing - and worrying about - Len (and Jim) while having her own adventures at the Academy.

And hee - yes, Jim's last plan worked out exceedingly well for Buffy - and Bones.

Good job, hon.

*smishes* Thanks!

I love the movie too, and I've got another idea that would actually put Buffy on the Enterprise during the Narada incident and wanted to go a different route here. Which is helpful that she started a year after the boys. ;)

And I'm looking forward to writing the angsty stuff that's gonna happen when the incident arrives, but I'm having fun writing the fluffy stuff for now. :)
