An Update On The Building Work

Here's what the kitchen looks like today. Dodgy wiring and piping have been removed from the under the floor and the area properly prepped and then flooded with cement. Until this dries we have to access the working area of the kitchen by way of the garage....

But it will be a whole new space when it's done and you'll be glad despite the mess now.

It turned out to be a much bigger job than we expected

I hope that is properly supported and there is a good damp course. Yes, it will be out of sight out of mind but I hope it was done correctly.

We think the guy who owned the house before us did much of the work himself. He wasn't a proper tradesman, just an enthusiastic amateur who botched the job because he didn't know any better.
