Our good deed for yesterday was sorting out a mix-up over walking sticks. Terry had walked off with John's stick on Sunday, leaving his own behind, so we went to his care home, returned him his stick and collected John's- which we will return on Sunday ( Read more... )

That brings back memories, my uncle died when he was 47 and was mentally handicapped we buried him with his favorite stuffed animals.

That is a very very old rabbit, then, a bit worse for wear but obviously important to your mother.

My own mother had exaggerated short term memory loss. Hers was the result of a massive stroke she had at age 55. It just got worse with time. A conversation with her was impossible as she'd ask the same question over and over.

That rabbit must be about 100 years old. He passed down the generations. I played with him too.

I pray the same prayer, but in my observation it is possible to have dementia and not know it and be as happy as anyone ever is....
