Ok so i love the whole sound of having a polish last 2 weeks heck ill even be happy with a week.

I bought the seche UV gel top coat and honestly I don't like it as much as their regular top coat. It didn't last nearly as long as my seche regular did.

I think the polish itself is what makes the difference.

Another thing you might want to try is a rubberized base coat like CND Stickey or Orly Bonder. I use Stickey over a treatment before color and my manis rarely chip before I change them, which is usually about once a week.

I use a nail hardener as my base coat too...Witchcraft Nail Hardener, 2 coats of polish & then Poshé Top coat. It doesn't chip usually but the polish will wear down. However this time I put Poshé on for a 2nd coat the day after I gave myself a mani & it has held up very well! I was twice as rough on my hands cleaning house too, not to mention I have 3 young kids to care for! I'm on day 4 with zero chipping, just have nail tip wear :D

You can't put a UV top coat over regular polish, it pulls the sides up because UV gel shrinks as it cures. But what I do is use a proper gel base, like CND base, then a UV gel top coat (all properly cured of course) and then you have a great base for your regular polish + Seche Vite, that lasts for two weeks, and you can change your color with a swipe, leaving the gel on underneath. Oh, and to be clear, you must use a proper gel base under UV top coats--I tried doing just a top coat on my natural nails and it burns! LOL so spend the money for the UV base coat. :-)

Really? Last night i used a uv coat on regular polish and
It looks great actually lol. Why would a uv coat not be able
To be used on regular polish though thats weird. Im also
Confused theres uv top coats and gel ones are they the same
Thing? And u put a base on then a uv or gel top coat and
Then nail polish on top of that? Makes no sense to me im more
Confused then ever now lol... i though base coat nail polish
then uvv or gel coat on top of that?

Because a UV gel, when cured, shrinks. When on top of a gel base, it stays adhered to the surface, but on top of polish, it will curl the edges up. Maybe it looks okay today, but it will peel off--or it least it has whenever I tried it. UV gel topcoat needs to be cured with a light. Maybe what you have is a topcoat that filters UV light, which is not the same thing--it is just a topcoat with UV protection in it.

ive had about 4 different people tell me to use the uv top coat.
my polish still looks great today. usually itd be chipped by now
but so far chip free. the top coat in no way looks gelish at all
either it looks like sche vite. so are uv top coats and gel top
coats the same thing? the top coat is honestly about 4 years old
lol..i found it last night after people mentioned using them and
i found i had one so i used it with my uv lamp. its called
"Savina(brand) UV Top Coat" thats it lol... so i have no clue.

I just returned from Sallys where I purchased the Seche Vite UV
top coat. Have you used that one?
