i think i would be remiss had i not mention the importance of the last few days.

a whole day has gone by with the news that barack obama has been elected by the american people (or at least, most of them) as the 44th preseident and the first african american president of the nation.

As much as I'm glad that Obama won (yes, I did vote for him, even though usually I don't let people know how I voted for), it kind of bothers me that people are refer to him as the first African-American president of our nation. It doesn't make him a better person or less of a person. It shouldn't matter. Besides, he's only half.
