Going to that London tomorrow for a conference (ooh how grown up) and we finish at 5 but my train home isn't til 8 at KingsX. Any suggestions for what to do/ where to eat and occupy myself for those couple of hours?

Or if anyone is around to keep me company? Hugs x

Cocktails in the 6th floor bar of the Tate Modern on Bankside where Benedict likes to hang out, a wander around the galleries, then westwards along the river to Waterloo and eat at Marie's in Lower Marsh - greasy spoon by day, kick-arse Thai caff in the evenings (take your own bottle), then tube straight up to Kings Cross.

Oooh cocktails, no doubt hideously expensive but likely very worth it. Shame Ben probably won't be there though :(

I have exactly the same dilemma in September when I'm going to London for an appointment which will finish about 3.30 and my train home isn't until 7.30.

The Out Of This World (Science Fiction But Not As You Know It) exhibit is on at the British Library if that interests you. I believe it contains some Who stuff. And it's right by Kings Cross.

You could always go and look at all the Tourists between platforms 9 and 10 at Kings Cross too ;)

My return journey is less than £30 by leaving later, if I left at 6 it would have been £100+, I imagine that's why you're later too?

Ooooh that could be fun, although I am spending the whole day talking about archives, the museum/library mix might be a bit much on top of that.

I was going to stare at 3/4 on my way in, I'm pretty sure KC puts the east coast trains near 9 and 10 and up that end.

Yep, the train back at 6.30 was over £80 whereas the one at 7.30 is £37. Total train fare was still nearly £75 which I probably won't get back unless I'm still claiming benefits by the time I go down ( ... )

Yeah 3/4 is outside the station, but it's a bit pathetic, will post the pic tomorrow. They're doing something at 9,10,11 and folk can't get onto those platforms without a ticket for a train leaving from there and they've been segregated away from the rest.

Well you'd never go to KC for the west coast highlands, she was right about Euston, and KC doesn't have a walkover bridge like in the film anyway.
