to continue your(s) metaphor, I've noticed that men's shopping behaviour actually really is a 'hunt' behaviour. as opposed to women, who wander from store to store, looking at different things on sale, deciding what will suit them best, allowing their considerations to lead them to totally different plans than those they entered the mall with, and hey, if we're changing the plan, that means we should *totally* go over here and check out what they have, and..

Men decide what they want to buy. Go to the store it's at. Buy it. Leave without looking at anything else. go home, and set thing up/put it together/butcher it and put it on the grill/brag about $newthing to their next-door neighbor.

If that's not 'hunt' behaviour, I don't know what is. :-) Now, what you *really* need is initiation rites, the first time a young man does this successfully. :-)
