Agreed.

But remember that we're just a bunch of communist pinkos on this side of the border.

I just wonder if we'd do better? I'm trying to think of a similar place in Canada where something of the sort could happen (maybe a flood in the St. Lawrence at Montreal or at the Red River in Winnipeg, overwhelming the spillway; an earthquake in Vancouver would arrive with too little warning), and how well we would have done.

It couldn't be this bad, though. If we could send our army into Toronto for snow, I get the feeling our response, even if inadequate, wouldn't be so miserable. And the atmosphere of fear probably wouldn't be as oppressive.

Gotta get back to Ottawa - in Guelph now, and don't want to hit the worst of Toronto traffic.

In terms of competence, sadly I can't say we'd do much better.

But I doubt PM would be strumming around on the ol' guitar. I think our response would suck because of incompetence, while theirs sucked for lack of caring bout the poor black folk who tend to vote Democrat anyways.

At least the effort would be there heh

Oog, Toronto traffic makes the baby Geebus cry.

Yup. Geebus, and they still haven't recovered from Katrina.
