Air pollution always made the most beautiful sunrises. Famine smiled to himself as he watched the sky brighten, colors spreading from the fiery point of the sun on the horizon. It was like a match dropped onto the surface of a polluted lake, flames spreading across the surface in a rash of bright reds, oranges and golds. He chuckled softly at the comparison and his companion looked up at him from where his head rested on the taller horseman’s shoulder. “What’s so funny?”
Famine smiled and leaned down to kiss Pollution’s forehead. “Nothing, love.” He leaned back and pulled Pollution closer, perfectly happy. “Nothing at all.”
