I've read a little bit of The Well of Loneliness, and I'm pretty sure that, although lesbians claim her/him/them as an iconic figure, she/he/they were transgender. As in, probably a man.

yeah, well, that's what i'm saying. i think its pretty obvious that today hall would have been considered transgender but back then that wasn't really an option so he/she identified as a lesbian. that's why it applies to you.
John is what hall's girlfriend called him/her. i tried to read the well of loneliness but honestly it just seemed pretty whiny to me. I LOVE halls style tho! The cloths! The little matching dogs with his/her girlfriend that he/she was always cheating on! Fabulous.
