Today it got to 45.9C (114.6F) where I work. I got into my car at 6pm and the seat adjuster burnt the back of my legs. As did the centre console. And at that time my car was sitting in the shade of the building, so I could touch my steering wheel ( Read more... )

IT IS OFFICIALLY CRAZY CAKES! We were sent home from work due to insanity. I fled to check on the cats, who were all very toasty but coping thanks to their wrapped ice bottles and lots of lovely kitchen tiling ;-)

I know! Fortunately, I got to sit in air con all day. Air con in Penrith, but air con none the less. ;) the temperature was gross but not too bad by the time I left.

I didn't even know that it was going to be this hot! It was pure chance I checked the mice's water this morning and found that they were empty, so I gave them a refill. :( Bad me.

The AC was so fucked at work that in parts of the building it was 20 and in other parts it was 35, the tech they called looked at the rooftop units and said there was nothing more he could do. The rooftop temp was 54 degrees.

And now it's just...bliss. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh cool breezes.

Awww, but you did check it, so things were okay.

And I know! I'm loving the breezes. :) It's so lovely right now.

I know that Australia is meant to be hot, but so you know, this is weird even for us. Multiply record breaking.
