Cain's playlist seems to grow periodically... Well, here's the list (plus more) that I always associate with Cain or listen to when writing a post or a log or a tag for him

→ Pablo de Sarasate, "Zigeunerweisen" (this makes a canon appearance)
→ Clint Mansell, "Requiem for a Tower" (this is the remix of "Requiem for a Dream" used in the Lord of the Rings trailers)
→ Malice Mizer, "Beast of Blood"
→ Poe, "Haunted"
→ Sleepthief, "Nightjar"
→ Sleepthief, "The Chauffeur" (which is a cover of a Duran Duran song, yes)
→ Massive Attack, "Teardrop"
→ October Project, "Bury My Lovely"
→ Kamelot, "The Haunting (Somewhere in Time)"
→ Tears for Fears, "Everybody Wants to Rule the World"
→ Nouvelle Vague (covering Bauhaus), "Bela Lugosi's Dead"
→ Tool, "Schism"
→ Hughes Hall, "Sleep Now" (Dark City soundtrack)
→ U2, "In God's Country"
→ E Nomine, "Mitternacht"
→ Davie Bowie (covering Nat King Cole), "Nature Boy"

And there's others too, of course:
Of late, the entire 2009 RDJ Sherlock Holmes soundtrack (Hans Zimmer) has found its way into my " ( ... )

I'm pretty sure I've recommended "Going Under" by Evanescence before, but there's also "Even In Death", which I think has that kind of Godchild feel to it.

I also like "Bare Grace Misery" by Nightwish, mostly for the lines, "Oh, bare grace misery, just a child without a fairytale am I" and "There`s no such priest that can pray me to heaven".

Aaaaand because Cain and Hamlet will forever be intertwined in my head, "Hey There, Ophelia" by MC Lars. For which I am not sorry.

You probably have, but that's okay, because it still fits :3 (Evanescence seems to come and go from this playlist for whatever reason).

And I don't think I've ever heard that Nightwish song before, but you're quite right about those lyrics D: (Also, I just like it.)

I suppose you shouldn't be sorry for that one. Oedipal rage and all.

I like "Anything For You", too (it's probably one of my favorites by them), but it doesn't...exactly fit. I mean, there's "I'll believe all your lies / just pretend you want me", but it's kind of a slant match. There but not there.

"Amaranth" is probably my most-played Nightwish song ever, but they're all so good it's hard to pick just one. ♥

Oedipal rage is my favorite bingo square.

Well, I sort of associate "Call Me When You're Sober" and it doesn't fit very well at all lyrically, but the video works well for the connection.

I'm partial to "Nemo" myself, for whatever reason...

I mentioned it just for you ♥

You know, come to think of it, I also really like "Quicksilver" by the Cruxshadows for him--especially for the events of Oedipus Blade and Godless. I mean, it just sounds like Cain's badass declaration of war.

I feel the Wishfire burning cold,
Black wings to fill the sky unfold.
and nothing takes from God his storm-
See the angels eyes transform...

You have forgotten yourself...

I'm taking back my love,
taking back my pride,
taking back my dreams,
and my life.
This is the ground,
I will defend.
A rage of Angels
bears the end...
I'm taking back my hope,
taking back my goals,
taking back my memories,
and my soul.
this brand is forged...
to my Crusade.
Quicksilver-
the future belongs to the brave.

Well--!

...if we're going to play this game, then I'll play Breaking Benjamin, "Evil Angel."

Hey, you gotta respect a guy willing to blow up massive amounts of ancient family property as a "screw you" to his dad and former most trusted servant. I'd forgotten just how hardcore Cain gets in the last couple chapters of his series.

I'll trade you Muse, "Butterflies and Hurricanes"?

He kind of is. Well, when you've got nothing to lose and a world to save...

I already hit you back on Rosella's soundtrack ;; I need to dig up more Cain stuff!

I'm sneaking The Killers' "When You Were Young" in here because 1) it is the #1 most played song in the entirety of my iTunes and 2) "He doesn't look a thing like Jesus / But he talks like a gentleman / Like you imagined / When you were young" has become so associated with Cain for me that it's actually his tag in Rosella's journal. /sneak sneak sneak

IT'S NOT REALLY A PLAYLIST UNLESS THE KILLERS ARE ON IT.
