THE QUESTIONS MEME

I. Post a list of your characters.
II. Comment around! Ask anything you can think of. Seriously anything, from "what part would your character play in a five-man boyband?" to "X's thoughts on his mother's early death", "your favorite canon scenes for W", or even "what would it take to get Y to punch Z in the face?"
III. Reply ( Read more... )

GINNY AND HARRY go!

Ginny is in a strange, confusing state of mind when it comes to Harry Potter. As if it wasn't complicated enough back home, with the war interrupting their three short weeks of bliss, the City's gone and pulled her away for two years. In canon, she and Harry are apart for a year as they both do their own thing for the fight; and even at times when it got difficult, the thought of him still being out there, somewhere, alive and fighting even when she didn't know where or if he was truly alright - that was a source of strength for not only Ginny but the DA and, of course, their whole side.

But in my personal opinion, I think Ginny was very careful about her feelings for Harry - at least in terms of articulating them. There's no doubt in her heart that she loves that boy, and surely there was some understanding between the two of them, but I don't know if Those Three Words were ever uttered. At least, not while shit was getting real. Saying that makes someone all the more precious, makes it all the more heartbreaking when they're taken ( ... )

Is Ginny afraid that if she ever goes back home, she'll not fit in anymore?

It isn't so much that she's afraid about going home and not fitting in, but that people from home will show up in the City and see just how much growing up she's done without them - and point out that she's different, somehow. Ginny is admittedly a little uneasy with how long she's actually been in the City without being sent home, but the idea of going home and possibly coming back makes her just as anxious. With every birthday that passes, she's older than she's 'meant to be' and if she goes home and comes back, what is she? A sixteen year old in an eighteen (almost nineteen) year old's body? Does that mean the years she's lived here don't count at all? What about the scars earned in this world and not her own, or the memories? And, most concerning of all, she's settling and she knows it. The City's becoming a home and she never intended for it to be, but that's just how it is.

It's something she's reminded of whenever August rolls around, or Christmas, or any of her brothers' birthdays. Because she is different from the sixteen ( ... )

I am going to cheat and use answers I've used in previous memes because They Are Relevent... sob forgive the copypasta.

BEST MUGGLE INVENTIONS:→ The television and all that goes with it. Cable or movies, it doesn't matter. The fact that they are moving pictures with sound is just way too awesome. She can't believe wizarding folk have gone so long without it. I'd imagine when she's older, someone introduces her to TVs and cinema (probably Harry or Hermione) and she LOVES it. Being able to watch a sports game as its happening is thrilling to her because all they really get are commentaries over the wireless if they want to keep up with a Quidditch match and can't physically be at the stadium. Watching a movie instead of reading a book and still getting the satisfaction of a well-told story? ALSO AWESOME ( ... )

So what actually would happen if Finnick married into the family.

I'm just saying.

It doesn't even have to be Ginny. He could marry Charlie or something. I'm down with that.

Finnick, by some crazy random magical happenstance, turns up in England. But because of the craziness of magic and probably the City in some way, shape, or form, there are some serious time discrepancies. So when he next sees Ginny Weasley, she's actually about twenty years old and the war's been fought and won and done with. She is no longer with Harry Potter, because the Boy Who Lived decided to focus on rebuilding their society and as much as Ginny respected and understood that, she told him she couldn't wait for him any longer and they ended it for good... much to Molly's distress, of course ( ... )

Ron and Bill are the most difficult of all. Ron is wary because he was so sure it would be Harry marrying into the family and it's kind of awkward that it isn't and his loyalties to his best friend and sister are kind of torn, even years later, even though it was mutual. His protective instincts manifest themselves at weird times in weird ways (see: corridor argument after Ginny and Dean are caught snogging). Finnick, initially anyway, probably reminds him a bit of Gilderoy Lockhart which sets his teeth on edge in a quiet way because Hermione was so taken with that smiling, smiling, smiling professor. He probably is a little envious of Finnick too because of all his charm and ease and wants to make sure it's coming from a good place, you know, because they've all lived a little since school and one can't be too careful. Ron has this trend of being kind of sullen around guys that he sees are 'better than him' in some way, even if they're perfectly fine personality-wise (Krum, for example). Also, the idea of having another older brother ( ... )
