No more ballots!

If you've seen the September Calendar you may have noticed a note on Prison Island. It's true, there will no Prison Island after that event, which means the deities will not be holding Warden Elections for the Fall Season. The deities have decided to get rid of the Warden Position period in favor of a temporary arrangement which will be unveiled in the following week. What does this mean for the community and your characters?

For some of you, not much at all.

But for the others, the Police Force is absolutely allowed to continue operating.

If the players wish it, the Police Force can construct their own jailhouse and elect a warden either by vote within the Police Force or an open vote to the entire City. Please keep in mind that because this is no longer a deity sanctioned position there will be no moderation involved beyond basic violations of godmodding or infomodding and there will not be any payment from the City or any lawful protection from the deities themselves. The Courthouse is still open for use as usual, however prison sentences must be carried out in a way not provided by the deities or Prison Island. Because the cooperating Police Force (and Warden should they choose to create the position) would no longer be associated with City Bureaucracy, citizens can take a Police Force member to court for wrongful arrest, improper investigation, etc.

ICly, this change will not actually occur in the City until September 10th, after a deity announcement. Characters are free to wonder why no deity has asked for nominations this season. Details for the event will be posted soon and linked on the calendar.

Lastly, we thank you for playing with the Official Wardenship since its introduction in 2007! We hope its elimination doesn't impede your gaming plans and absolutely encourage players who want to try and build a similar system with their own characters.
