“Ordinary Election”

Aug 03, 2008 16:17

Joe lieberman on Meet the Press this morning, said he crossed party lines to support John McCain because “this is not an ordinary election.”
I'm going to guess that by “ordinary” he means one where there is so little at stake that it doesn't matter who we vote for, and I don't think we ever have had or ever will have an election like that.

I think I would have to agree with your view on "ordinary." I think it's kind of silly for Joe Lieberman to have said that/put it that way! Ha, there is no such thing as a normal election in America, it seems.... There's always SOMETHING at stake.

(On the other hand, I'm no fan of Obama, and have in the past thought that I might support McCain because of it, so in practice, I might actually agree with L....)
