The world is bigger than California and Israel, Fuzz. Of course I want you as close to me as possible, but in all seriousness, why not root somewhere even more exotic? You're hearty and adaptable, and yet warm and gentle enough to root. Don't limit scope.

Shnickie is right; there's a whole world out there that can be your home for as long as you need it to be. You don't have to stay forever in California or Israel. Where is the best place for you to get a job that you enjoy? Where is the place you can make a life that will make you happiest?

Sometimes it's not the place itself but what you do there that counts. And how much you can afford to live there--Cali is super expensive as you recall, but the pros there may outweigh the cons.

Where are you going to go where people don't know what an American is? And for that matter, if they don't, how would you even begin to converse with them? Maybe if you go to pre-school in another country where the children don't know geography yet.

Or do you mean an American and everything that implies about you? Maybe that's ... possible? We have spread knowledge of our culture far and wide, for better and for worse.
