Who you involve yourself with romantically is none of my business, Mr Smith, so long as nobody gets hurt. Similarly, aside from tidying up general debris, breakups are none of my business.

I do not intend to pry. It simply occurred to me that you might profit from a pleasant hour or so away from your current- situation.

Also, there are some few academic matters I must discuss with you.

Believe me when I say that these cookies are completely harmless... Unless you have some kind of jam allergy?

Oh, okay. I wasn't sure if, as a woman, you felt offended on Hannah's behalf. Or since Hannah's a prefect... I'm not making sense.

I think I haven't been doing bad lately, academically.

The quality of your work is not a problem. I'm rather pleased with it on the whole. In fact, I may have a small project for you; we can discuss details in person.
