as a dog owner. It is kind of strange because I think of myself as a cat person. My gf has been wanting a dog for a year now, so I finally gave in. We got him on Sunday. The dog's name is Tyson. He is 8 months old and bad. He needs to get into obedience school ASAP ( Read more... )

Like your gf, the Missus has been making lots of noises about dogs lately. She works right by the ASPCA, and every few days I get a new report on the state of Buckley and Liza, two dogs who have caught her eye. And though I too consider myself a cat person, I grew up with dogs and love them.

It's just such a commitment! The thing that's really stopping us, though, is space—or lack thereof. We already have six pets (3 feline, 3 rodent), and I fear being overrun. Or maybe overpowered.

The funny thing is, the post that came up on my friends page right before yours was this one.
Congratulations on your new addition! Good luck with the training.

Wow, it may be your future. You've got a household full of pets. I am just working with two. My Gf went to the shelter for a few weeks before she wore me down. I understand the space issue.

Now that we have the dog, my gf and I talk about how much easier it would have been to get another cat.

I'm a dog person as well, although I like cats too. Dogs keep you active though, which is what I like about them.

Also? How are you? We all need to get together soon!

We should get together. The dog does keep me active, but I don't want to be active.
