Welcome to my world: I only watched the last five minutes myself because my father-in-law just got back from his brother's funeral, and it was the closest to a bonding moment we could have at the time. Personally, I haven't given a damn about any Superbowl was in 1998, and that was only because MTV was having a Celebrity Deathmatch claymation halftime event at the time of the real halftime show. Watching clay versions of Hanson and the Spice Girls rip each other to pieces was worth the effort.
I really would like the half-time shows to be patriotic, because it tends to be extra amusing. You know, like the end scenes of the Kevin Costner movie "The Postman".
It probably made sense at one time to call the English champions of football world champions too, I guess. Still, didn't Cuba start its baseball league in 1878?
