I watched the movie/DVD Transformers. I'm not going to bother with a real review, I'll just note that

To enjoy Transformers you really either have to be a child or have to have watched it as a child. I loved it because of the latter; it was positively dripping with nostalgia, to include the voice of Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime and lines taken directly from the 1986 animated film. If you haven't seen it as a kid, there's really no way that you're going to get that sort of feeling.

I do some of my best writing to the score. One of my friends, upon hearing this, said that I should avoid watching the movie, as it would completely ruin the cool overblown Bruckheimmmerianness of the score.

Yeah, the score is impressive in some sort of very overblown way. In parts. The movie doesn't deserve it.
