As soon as I saw the death described I knew where it was going, and may have squeaked in alarm when Dawson tasted the seeds. Well done, and quite melancholy.

I was a little leery about having Dawson taste this unknown seed because it seemed like such a stupid thing to do (at least from a human perspective.) But it really is one of the ways rodents check food for toxins IRL. Then if they get sick from whatever they tasted, they stay the heck away from it in the future.
