They are getting rid of Mandy Bruno. Auditions for Eponine were held May 30-31st and they will be re-casting.

That's not necessarily the case. They held those as a precaution in case she wasn't able to come back after being sick.

Actually, I'm sure they are. I have manu connections (thank you uncle mark) and I'm sure they are. It may not be for awhile but they pretty much already have the new Eponine firgured out.

Wait, didn't they have another Eponine coming in after Bruno that they had already picked? I didn't know Bruno was sick.

I would love to see Lea Michelle take the role (again). She's said it's her dream role.

Mandy is not being re-cast. anonymous June 13 2007, 15:09:21 UTC
Actually, they are not recasting Mandy. They held auditions for a lot of roles, including Eponine, MT, Javert and several ensemble members. My agent said they were worried for awhile because Mandy was ill and they thought she may not be able to finish the run, but it looks like she will. I saw the show twice, once on May 1st and again last week. She has grown a lot in the role in just a month. I actually really liked her!

I heard a clip of Mandy singing OMO and she didn't sound too bad to me.

I know I'm one of the few but I wasn't very impressed with Celia. I found her a bit bland.

Actually I just heard again that Mandy is being let go and Megan McGinnis will be taking over. I don't know if it's true so don't take my word for it. I would love to see Megan take over the role. She has the most beautiful voice. And hopefully playing the role full time would give her the chance to elaborate on her interpretation of Eponine.
