How could she possibly think that Eponine never feels sorry for herself? What, did they cut the part where she sings "Cosette, now I remember. Cossette, how can it be? We were children together, look what's become of me"... from the play??? That is clearly Eponine feeling sorry for herself.

It's nice to know that she has a somewhat right idea of what she's doing. Even if she has got the selfless bit wrong. That really is what I think is wrong with her Eponine - the fact that she seems completely unaware of her social status and the fact that Marius cannot like her. She just seemed too modern.

I just happened upon your site and saw that you're looking for an audio tape of me singing Eponine. I used to have one, but moved and put a lot of things in storage (several years ago) and I have no idea where it is. Sorry! Nice to hear that someone remembers I once performed that role.

I'm out of the theater altogether now, and am a writer. I have my own series of guidebooks, called the Pauline Frommer Guidebooks, so if you get the chance, please check them out. You might find some good restaurants to eat in before or after seeing Les Mis ;)

Best,

Pauline
