Just send the post you wrote. It's intelligent, to the point and ends neatly. More worrying, if this was him in jest, it still seems as if he thinks he can make sweeping statements without looking at his evidence properly- not very good science methodology, there.
Exactly. Not all vampires transmit like a disease via one trauma/bite/droplet infection. Indeed, Dracula's origins, along with many vampire tales from that region of the world- the tales the West have based their own mythos upon- are shrouded in secrecy and mystery. He seems to have been born into it- possibly at moment of (assassinated) death.
Most involve a necessary transmission of fluid both ways; into the vampire to make them strong enough to bleed and to weaken the new host body to accept the transfusion, and then the contaminated blood is transfused into the host.
Likewise, not all vampires survive, nor do humans while in the Change.
And what of Psychic Vampirism? A phenomena more widely noted and accepted.
And: just how sad does a 'scientist' have to be to acually think about this this much?! Or is he taking a break from working out how long it takles cornflakes to go soggy? (I kid you not, some American 'scientists' were doing just that not so long ago).
So Radu was born into it in a very Carpathian-natural sort of way, Vlad was born into it at death...what happened with Mircea? At time of "death" he was in his early twenties/late teens...so it must have been later for him...
Well, according to Romanian legend, being blinded then buried alive (brutal murder) is enough to turn one into a vampire o.o Also, unfinished business can result in a dead person rising as a vampire. This could be enough reason for Vlad and Mircea; Vlad never really punted the Turks all the way out of Romania, Mircea could rise for revenge. Radu, however, is more of a mystery to me. He died of syphilis; he wasn't murdered. :o So I guess, like you said, he was born into it, but only became one after he died. :3 Also, this makes me wonder; When Vlad found out Radu had risen, did he maul the hell out of him? I would have. >:[ Or at least smacked him a good one
