GMET - Act II
Ya har! In Act II, we see the introduction of Ruuk, Rachel (22girl), Kiefer, and Laura! Read on and satiate your burning curiosity....
ACT II!!!
22. “Seven Nation Army” - White Stripes
Act Two opens and we see Allen’s older brother Kiefer on the mainland with amnesia. He knows there’s a girl out there, but he can’t remember. He tries to figure out how he got here and ends up wandering to Wichita, Kansas--now the center of the Universe.
23. “Motorcycle Driveby” - Third Eye Blind
Another character is introduced. Ruuk! She is furious because she has just been kicked out of the FBI, the headquarters of which is based in Wichita. Angry about being ejected, she, too, is pining over someone, though we do not yet know whom.
24. “Mad About You” - Hooverphonic
Far-away shot of Wichita. In the center of the city, in the building that rises up above the city like a protective obelisk, is CDU--the Counter Deity Unit. We see Rachel, the one in charge of CDU, looking down on the rest of the Unit from her office. Her thoughts turn to the French Deity of Rock, with whom she is obsessed.
25. “Girls Not Grey” - AFI
Kiefer is losing his mind. He starts to remember flashes of memories, including the explosion of the boat that wound him up here. He overlooks the Harbor of Wichita (???) and pines for the loss of his brother, Allen, who was killed in the explosion.
26. “Rain” - Madonna
Ruuk is remembering her old lover who turns out to be Allen!! She remembers when she lost him on that day the boat blew up, and even though they had already mutually broken up, it was clear they both still had feelings for each other. Ruuk walks through the rain toward the Harbor of Wichita.
27. “Shake the Disease” - Hooverphonic
Ruuk continues her lament, remembering that she and Allen mutually broke up due to her overworking at the FBI, and him caring way too much about his detective agency.
28. “Wardrope” - Hooverphonic
Cutting back to CDU, we see Rachel board a ship to Africa, where she is tracking down the FDoR. She’s followed him all the way to the French village near Pride Rock, and now stalks him like a wild animal stalks its prey.
29. “Do the Evolution” - Pearl Jam
OH NOES!! We see Kiefer cornered in an alley near the Harbor. He is cornered by Demon Puppets and Marionettes of Doom!! He tries to fight them off but there are too many. Fortunately, just in time Ruuk bursts in on the scene and saves him!!!!
30. “Tout Tout Por Ma Cherie”
Rachel has stumbled across the center of the French Village of Rock where there is a happy parade of gay, demon puppets. Ever drawing closer to the FDoR.
31. “Break It Down Again” - Tears for Fears
(This one had Veronica and I rolling on the floor!!) We see Ruuk and Kiefer in a small room as she explains to Kiefer where he came from, who he is, who she is, everything he’d forgotten about his life. Elated, Kiefer begins to stand on the table, singing and DANCING!!!!, while he asks her to explain it for him just one more time. His disco moves are hilarious as he tells the greatest story ever told!
32. “Jackie Cane” - Hooverphonic
Cut to an ordinary street alleyway. A Lady of Negotiable Affections walks it sadly, saxophone in hand. We see that this is Laura, known as ‘Jackie Cane” on the streets.
33. “Someone” - Hooverphonic
As we see Ruuk and Kiefer bonding over the death of Allen on the exploding ship, they suddenly begin to GET! IT! ON! Bow chikka bow bow. Mad sex, yo.
34. “Pac-Man” - Orbital
Close up shot on the emptiness of the Floating Disembodied Head of Jeremy Irons’s secret lair. Rave music plays and disco balls dance everywhere. A little dude in a cart cleans up in preparation for a party.
35. “Corduroy” - Pearl Jam
The FDoR finds Laura and asks her to play for him in his wedding to Vee coming up very soon. She agrees and is whisked away to the French Village of Rock.
36. “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”
Luther learns of Elisha’s treachery and reports to FDoR. The Deity sends him off to find her, but Luther has other plans. As he struts purposefully through town, people begin to file behind him in a crowd, dancing with him, a la the end of Grease. There’s even a carnival going on as Luther sings. But what’s this!! We see a MIME in the background!!!!! What can it mean???
