it depends on the two people and where they are at in their lives and where they want to be going. some can make it work, some can't.

That's a pretty hard question.
I believe that it would depend on how old the two people in question were. 15 years is a very big difference, especially around our age; in life experience, attitude, life goals, were you are in life, and just about everything else.
Personally, I don't think I'd be able to date someone 15 years older than me (at my current age), that'd make them almost 39, but if I were over 30, then maybe it wouldn't seem so much (although I still don't think I would).

It all depends on the maturity of the two people involved. Some early-mid thirty year old people can still have a youthfulness to them (i.e. the Queer as Folk team). Or alternatively, the younger person may be more experienced in life in general due to certain factors that made them grow up emotionally very quickly. I think that is the main cause for concern - that the two people are at the same level in life. And I don't think that either person should expect the other to conform greatly to fit in with each other's lifestyles: each person should be aware in advance what they are getting in to ( ... )
