I'm so sorry to hear that they dumped you on your ass like that. I feel they should have pulled you aside and at least warned you that they were considering dropping you, and asking you if you had any idea why, what you would do about it, etc. instead of just saying "oh hey, you're outta here." That's absolutely nuts.

But I want to say I'm proud of you and your determination to not let this slow you down. To just pick yourself up and make the best of what you've got. That's very, very admirable and I know you can take yourself far. Maybe even farther than if you had stayed in the program!

Add me to the list of people to vent/rant/confide/ to and in :)

The more I think about it and hear about it, the madder I get. You are not in proffesional theatre and you are PAYING THEM to TEACH YOU. If there is anything wrong with your proformance it is THEIR RESPONSIBILITY to educate you and show you how to correct the problem. The reasons they gave are arbitrary.

What they have done is bullshit. You and the other three students need to talk to the Dean of the Arts and Dean of Students and make the Heads of your department held accountable. Doesn't matter if the one guy is leaving. Doesn't matter if your actions won't get you back into their program. Those ASSHOLES need to be checked. Their bullshit shouldn't color your chances to get a BFA.

ARGH!! SO...PISSED!!! INJUSTICE!

I honestly believe that there is some malicious things going on in this department. I think what happened to me and Anna-Marie was strictly a political move on behalf of the faculty's part to initiate some kind of scare tactic for the rest of the student body. All it has done is alienate the faculty and now no one feels safe. People who were going to audition for BFA this year are having second thoughts about it. They are scared out of their minds. Chris Plummer, my director, is secretly telling his freinds who were applying here to not come because they don't honor their contracts.

All of this is all complete bullshit and we are going to take it to a higher power. Not for our benefit. Because the general concensus is that if we were to be let in, we don't know if we would want to be in this kind of department. We are doing this for all of the future BFA's out there and to make sure something like this does not happen again....ever.

If you need any help let me know. I can assist in writing a scathing letter (I have a degree in it!:D) or I can stand beside you glowering at the indignity of it all. Whatever you need.

I'll write a satirical letter and send it to the U of I press...that'll get 'em!

But then I'll need to figure out what kind of satire I want to write.

We could just kick 'em in the nuts...hell, I'll be the "inside man(n)", for the job. We could come up with an elaborate scheme that ultimately just leads to Jack Black burning down the Dean's office.
