I received an email, this morning, from the committee chairperson at IPUMC.  I GOT THE JOB!!!  Wahoo!

So, I'll meet with them, soon, and they'll tell me all the specifics about the position (actual pay, vacation, expectations, etc.) and I'll officially accept at that time.

Thanks! I'm really happy about it. I've been looking for a steady musical outlet for over a year, now. It's nice to finally have a place that not only needs me, but also CHOSE me.

Oh... it's Irving Park United Methodist Church. I'll be their music person -- playing piano, directing their "choir", organizing musical events, etc. I still have my "big" job at Foodstuffs Inc. as a data entry/accounts payable person. This will be my music/church outlet.

The coolest thing is that they're a reconciling church, so they're completely okay with the fact that I'm gay. I don't have to be "under cover" at church. Of course, since they're Methodist, though, gay people still can't be ministers (if they're "practicing" homosexuals). But, still it's nice to not have the pulpit pounded every Sunday by someone convinced that homosexuality is the sin that's sending our entire nation to Hell.
