clang clang clang goes the trolley
You know how sometimes you're writing a story, but the process is going really slowly, with, like, a good sentence or two every half hour? But then suddenly inspiration hits and you're like "Oh my god!" and start scribbling away madly? And then, after a full page and a half of scribbles, you stop writing and read through what you've written and go, "Wait, this doesn't work with the overall plot. Okay, maybe that sentence works, but everything else is a tangent. Argh!"?
That happened to me last night with my remixredux story. *SIGH* (I am so gloriously s.c.r.e.w.e.d.)
To lessen the pain of my disappointment and frustration, I made a Frankenmix (™ meyerlemon). The Frankenstein Mix Meme was created by calikali, and yay music!

Right before my close high school friends and I went our separate ways to college, we got together one last time. And while we were goofing off at a tourist-y shop on Fisherman's Wharf, this song came on the store's radio and it's been forever linked in my mind to being in high school and hanging out with my buds.
3. A song that mentions a dead celebrity.
Tear in Your Hand - Tori Amos
Charles Manson is a celebrity of sorts, right?
4. A song you'd be embarrassed to listen to with your grandmother.
I Touch Myself - The Bens
We T women are prim and proper!
5. A song that MTV will never play in a million, billion years.
Amitriptyline - John Vanderslice
Does MTV even play music anymore? In any case, I'd loved to see them prove me wrong on this one.

Okay, this one stumped me, so I just randomly chose this song.

While I'm fond of both songs, Eva's version takes it to a new level, imo.

My Funny Valentine - Chet Baker
Ah, The Talented Mr. Ripley. I've never understood why more people don't like that movie.

Mmm, angst.
14. A song you wish they'd play in elevators.
Star Wars the Brave (Big Chalupa pt. 1) - Bags and Wood
I don't know if I'd necessarily want this song to be played in elevators, but I'd totally keel over laughing if it was. :)
15. You'll stop listening to this song when they pry your MP3 player out of your cold, dead hands.
American Girl - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers
This one stumped me as well, so I simply shuffled all my songs in iTunes and chose the one that came out in the #1 position.
