Another YouTube gem

ok, so I posted a link last night to an application that will allow you to save YouTube vids as either an AVI or MPEG format.

Here's a better gem: http://vixy.net/ online conversion of the file to either AVI or other file types and then you can save it to your computer.

Thanks, I'll have to check this out when I get home.

I already have a plugin for Firefox on my home PC that lets me save YouTube videos, but its a bit tricky to work with. If there's more than one YouTube link on a webpage, I have to select the correct one, and it will save it, and I have to give it a .flv extension, then I had to install a .flv format player. That works, 95% of the time but its not ideal. I believe YouTube uses some kind of Shockwave for their video format.

Thanks! I was trying to find a good software to save those. I just got off the phone with Dell Tech Support. I am getting my hard drive, motherboard and speakers (assuming monitor) replaced on my Inspiron 700m laptop with 37 days of warranty left to go. Whew! Now I have to go through a bazillion files to see what I need to save. When it rains, it pours!

Hope you are feeling better and up and about. I sent you my family drama in an e-mail earlier. Holla if you get a chance.

Luvs ya!
