Say No To Cracks!

does anyone else see the cracks are spreading?

Its the little things that we don't think about. The air machine at the local gas station broke, and the owners decided to take it out rather than get it fixed. Now the other air pump in our small town is out of order, too.

The busses that we ride are starting to fall apart. Large bendy busses are getting replaced with smaller busses. Lately it's been standing room only on the way back and forth to work.

More and more people are living by duct tape, bubble gum and prayers. I know I'm one of them.

Water fountains are broken, streetlights are out. It seems like more and more minor necessities are not making it above the budget line these days.

Companies are cutting costs by firing people, so that their unemployment insurance rates do not go up.

More and more people are stressed out and fighting about money. Rent money starts to mysteriously go missing, and room-mates and best friends are getting into fist fights

I just got a letter in the mail offering a 50% settlement on one of my old bills. In previous years 25% or even 33% was the best one could hope for.

If you haven't noticed all of that, have you at least noticed all of the storefronts that are available these days? Houses for sale? Apartments for rent? Banks that are closed? Buildings that are abandonded? And how on earth can local real estate offices still want to quote prices of $9 a square foot for office space? How is this possible?

The cracks in the system are spreading. Reinforcements are too few and far between, the material is getting stretched thinner and thinner. At least one major chunk is bound to completely collapse very soon.

Which one will it be, and when?
