Adventures of the SGAA Brigade - the sixteenth session
Here it is, the grand finale of the SGAA's sophomore year of high school! stickywhitesock, have an XP!
Dead Puppies Aren't Much Fun
Through a foreboding fog, sounds of battle raged around the SGAA strike team as the last chapter of the campaign began. Juan, Bella, Memphis, Raz, Mindy, Sam, Chastity and Rook waited for the Red Plains to come into view as they flew towards their destined battle in their epic Buick. As the flying car exited the fog, the sight of the epic battle of good versus evil raged as the Eye of Balor moved ever so slowly into alignment with the moon. The red plains feasted on the chaos and fanned the flames of war even more, delighting in the battle upon its grounds.
The sight was stunning to the group, with all the horrors and glory of war lain before them. But with time of the essence, Memphis swiftly flew the car towards a convenient trench that would take the group close to Razmus's workshop where the villains of this play were going to release the Red Court.
The route to the trench was fierce as the battle waged below with errant and intended artillery or whatnot flying close to the car.. A dragon block and merfolk army stood in the way. Both were taken care of by Juan, who again used aphrodisia to make a large critter lust after merfolk. The act was both strategically sound and painful to watch.
Stationary weaponry and soldiers lined the trench awaiting to blast anyone who dared pass through as the grouped entered. Barrage after barrage was deftly dodged by Memphis's skill and the bludgeoning of the cars occupants. If not for Memphis fine skill with speed, the group would have been easily taken down. Even so, a well time Portal Passage saved the group from a boarding and being shot at. At the end of the run the car was barely flyable, only staying aloft due to Memphis's stubbornness.
After exiting the trench, the sight of the House Balor encampment came into view. An idea then struck Raz as he saw the ominous encampment. He found perfect test group for his crafted dice from the chaos from Jurgen's trap from the SGAA's last trip in the dreaming. Not knowing what they would do, he tossed them at the encampment to find out, while the SGAA force remained the control group that would hopefully be outside the effects. What happened to the House Balor base was beyond words, but it was probably worse for them than the SGAA. Then SGAA car crash landed, minus the Baysplosion since the little dragon wasn't given a quarter beforehand.
Shortly after crash landing, the team was met by a group from House Scathath, lead by the knight that was with them during the SGAA's Noam King encounter. The knights said they were to protect the group until they reached the tower. The SGAA were escorted to a guarded path that lead to the tower. House Scathath's elite troops held the guards at bay to allow the SGAA entrance to the troubling tower.
Skyla blocked the stairs as the group entered the tower. She was pissed and ready to battle the group with her nameless bodyguards. Memphis said he would take care of her, so everyone else continued their assent. Memphis was alone against Skyla and her guards. He tried to reason with her, but her guards met him with a violent response. So He felled the guards in easy-brutal Memphis fashion with his hungry gloves. The question was will they blend, and the guards did with ease.
As he continued to try reasoning with Skyla, Memphis saw an odd necklace around her neck which was most likely controlling her. So Memphis did the logical thing and broke out with a montage song, recalling time spent and his true feelings for Skyla. He ended it with an epic marriage proposal. After the musical number and marriage proposal, the necklace broke and the lovers embraced over the liquid corpses of her guards as Skyla said yes. Then she revealed a convenient short cut to the top of the tower.
As the group crossed the second floor workshop to climb the stairs to the third, Raz and Mindy were separated from the group by a falling stone-trap-death-thing activated by Razmus. Telling the rest to go ahead, Raz and Mindy faced off against Rubi and Razmus. Rubi was a force to be reckoned with as Raz and Mindy scrambled to come up with a plan to deal with her. As Rubi cornered the two, inspiration struck Raz as he asked Mindy if she could slow down time for him.
Mindy slowed time down as Raz went to work at a hectic pace. Whipping out ingredients and tools, he forged the ultimate antithesis to Razmus's creation. Razmus's creation of life was given Raz's creation of soul. The problem with Rubi was solved by using the Bella's-broken-pride-diamond and a most perfect flower to craft a soul for Rubi.
Afterward Rubi was confused, but less hostile to what she considered her new parents.. Raz then met Razmus on the ground floor of the workshop for one final clash, each trying to craft the other into something. These seconds each lasted an eternity in themselves. But finally, Raz defeated Razmus's current body. And to his surprise, Razmus couldn't leave his body for another, because Rubi was destroying Razmus's back ups. After Rubi addressed Mindy and Raz as parents, the newly dysfunctional family would then join Memphis and Skyla for the express route to the top.
As the remainder of the group passed through the third floor, Chastity was hit by a spider web and lifted up into the darkness of the ceiling. Juan told everyone to head on, but Bella stayed behind to help him. Many brown spiders began to skitter about. Bella immediately made Juan and her invisible to the eyes of the enemy. As the spiders searched, the perfect pair planned. Juan used aphrodisia to make the spiders kill themselves doing something that is probably better left to the imagination, that that aphrodisia leaves much to that.
The success had both feeling good, but the white spider then snagged Bella. If a spider could smile, it would have grinned maliciously as it gave Juan a challenge. Juan had to choose which girl lived. This caused Juan some hesitation for once. Then he tried to save both, but he went for Bella first the barest of milliseconds, causing Chasisty to dissolve painfully.
The spider laughed as Juan raged and killed it. Bella broke down in tears and asked Juan why he chose her if he thought she was a villain. After another heartfelt moment where Juan confessed his love Bella and Juan shared their first kiss, breaking Juan's Geas on using aphrodisia for personal gain by discovering true love. This would cause everyone to subconsciously shudder for the months to come. The group taking the express route picked the two up as they headed for Jurgen's stage.
On the fourth floor, Sam and Rook were blocked by Midnight, Krahe's former protege. Midnight proclaimed her desire to bring Krahe back, which Sam and Rook both brushed off. In the middle of Rook dismissing her, Midnight activated some dark magic to bring a menacing clone of Krahe into existence.
Rook took on his soul's past as Sam moved into position to fight Midnight. Krahe and Rook exchanged blows and taunts. Midnight activated Starbody, which lights her body on fire and made it difficult for Sam to fight her. Seeing this, Rook used Hopscotch to jump his clone over Midnight. This caused the clone to fall on her and be destroyed, but not before Krahe threw Midnight at Sam. Rook failed at Hopscotching her away from Sam, and Midnight grabbed Sam tightly as she landed on the Eshu.
After Sam almost suffered fatal burns, Rook ripped Midnight off. In his rage he shoved his sword into her head, giving Krahe some small piece of victory. After Rook panicked over Sam, he composed himself and confessed his love to her. He then went forth into Jurgen's chamber alone with no plan but the SGAA staple of "winging it" and "Plan C."
Rook arrived first at Jurgen's room first, with the main villain on the other side of the red-court-in-the-box which had 5 swords already inserted. Both had a brief exchange, partly due to Rook trying to stall him. Seeing no other strategic option, Rook charged at him and was predictably frozen in place by the Fomorian lady-mommy-thing. Then the rest of the SGAA arrived. They were frozen in place too. Then High King David appeared and stabbed Mindy a surprised with Caliburn. With the last ingredient, the blood of an innocent, shed Jurgen then took Caliburn from the High King and was about to insert it in the last open keyhole, laughing like a standard asshole villain about his victory being complete.
At that moment all hope was lost. The SGAA could only stand and watch. The group felt anguish as nothing could be done to save Mindy. The villain was about to unleash the Red Court and bring back the Fomorian Red Court. Then Raz remembered the no-hope-scroll and opened it. The Formorians rage increased as Jurgen pleaded with it that he thought those words were destroyed. The Mommy Fomorian's anger rose as it rushed Raz, but the Words of Truth from the scroll banished it.
Afterward, everyone was able to move again. Memphis immediately threw goblin dust at Jurgen, which caused Jurgen to trip and fall onto Caliburn's blade. Rook continued his charge from where he was frozen and impaled Jurgen with his sword as well.
Soon after, the rest of the SGAA arrived with the Brother Mayhew from a Dark Path Portal. Tony yelled for someone to destroy the soul. He tossed it to Memphis and Juan, who after some deliberating decided to feed it to Memphis's gloves. With Jurgen's soul destroyed, he started decaying, and probably was missing his mommy in a bad way. Rook withdrew both blades in a slashing manner, cutting him into three pieces before Jurgen fully disintegrated.
Afterward, Mindy's spirit appeared next to the Brother ready to move on, but demanding next time Raz hit on her next life. After some tears and a long discussion on what could be done, Raz decided to challenge the Brother for Mindy's life in a game, like Bill n Ted's Bogus Journey. The challenge was to build a better clock. The judge chosen was someone Raz's grandfather spoke highly of. An hour was spent by both in the second floor workshop to build the clocks. After the clocks were made, the Brother and Raz went to the underworld to show the judge. Though Raz's clock kind of sucketh, it had more heart and prevailed over the Brother's clock. Mindy was saved, though with a scar through her chest and no memory of her unhappy-dead time.
Meanwhile, the rest of the SGAA and the High King discussed what to do with the box and keys. The swords, minus Caliburn were to be spread across the Red Plains again. The box would be dropped in the Sea of Sorrows, since if such an act would break it, Jurgen would have done so to start with. After it was decided and was obvious the High king wouldn't stab Mindy again, Rook gave Caliburn back to the High King.
Soon after, The Seelie houses arrived, along with John Smith and the Gray Lady. Juan and Memphis met with John, and Mr. Smith gave them fair warning that those who did not want to be knighted should leave then. Both went to warn everyone, though Juan enjoyed confusing John Smith with a cryptic mention of Raz creating life. On the way back, Memphis took a detour to free "The Thunderwave" from the dungeon.
After the warning, Juan, Bella and Tony stayed to reap the rewards. They would spend some time at Tara Nara celebrating, reaping the social rewards of being knighted and most likely getting sucked into webs of political intrigue.
The rest of the group took the box and Jurgen's airship on a meandering trip through the dreaming dropping of decoys boxes and relaxing from the harsh ordeal. The rest was well earned as was the start of healing any scars, both physical and mental. The real ark was finally thrown into the Sea of Sorrow and the group headed back home.
As the ark-drop group arrived back in the Autumn Realm, they were in time for the start of the second semester. John Smith, Tony, Juan and Bella were at the high school waiting for them.
