When I listen to my iPod, scenes are constructed in my head. A very common one involves me and my dad on stage. We've formed a comedy singing double act called "Pookie & Ali". Might it help to join up with some other performers so that everyone brings some friends, or to attend an open mic night? That way you’d have a bit of a ready-made audience. The other option would be to join an established band or am-dram society. Good luck with your creative endeavours, whatever you decide to do.

Most of what I've done music-wise involves other performers, the problem being now that everyone appears somewhat disparate. morti, my main partner in crimes against music, up to the point where he was in my band and I was in his band, is now living in Germany, and that's obviously been detrimental. In addition, the other people I know who do music (Helen Robertson, Johnny Cashpoint, Hoopshank and others) are still around, but I don't see them too much any more for some reason or another... and it's really not fun doing an open mike on your own. I've done quite a few in my time, but I don't think it's so much fun if you're alone. As a comedian, having at least one friend is good in case you go down really badly ( ... )
