Looks cute. Make sure you keep him away from the BT Tower though:

I am Very Jealous! I'm torn between NFCs and Maine Coons, and Max is lovely!

We had an interesting chat with the breeders on NFCs vs MCs. They went through a similar decision a while back.

The view was that MCs are being bred to be too large, too quickly. Some actual show cats have died from heart failure at a young age.

MCs will also wander for miles, but NFCs don't.

That was their opinion on the matter anyway. Personally I think they are both beautiful breeds.

Those are both interesting points to bear in mind. Cheers!

How have the rest of the family taken to him?

He's only met Tig and Ruby briefly, and it wasn't all that good. Ruby got over-excited and barked, which scared the bejeezus out of him. Tigger was spitty and hissy. He's been staying in his 'safe room'(the front bedroom) until he feels a bit more comfortable with us and the house, then we'll see how he goes with re-introductions to the other pets. Consensus seems to be to let him take it at his own pace. At least upstairs, Ruby can't get to him as she's banned. So he can stay up there for as long as he wants to while he's confined to indoors. Hopefully by the time he starts going outside he'll have started getting used to Tigger and Ruby, and they to him.
