I am so so so proud of you for giving her a chance, and loving yourself enough to make the decision that she can't be in your life. I know it wasn't easy on you. If anyone is to judge you harshly, offer them the same option. Tell them what happened, why you've cut ties, and let them take it from there. If they are at all worthy of being in your life they will support you. If they do not, they fall into that group of people who do you harm and they aren't worthy of being in your life.
I think you are being amazing, strong, classy and dignified. You're incredible in a situation that should never, ever have happened. That woman doesn't deserve you as her daughter and you sure as hell don't deserve her for a mother.
Jenny, thanks. All of my friends who are moms have made this so much easier: I know now what a healthy mom-kid relationship should look like, from the beginning. Mad props, yo. ;) I should never say that again...

Stay strong, hun.
