David paced back and forth, his boots slowly scraping away onto the concrete floor in his dark humid garage. Tucked into the corner of the basement was a PC, the monitor being the only source of light beamed in the dark room across David’s pale face. His eye where focused, his lips moving, “Think David, think.”
His eye’s started to widen behind his glasses. His mouth slowly smirked, “Give up, she is way beyond us. Let’s just go for a different girl.”
“The is no other! There is only her, no one else can take her place.” David yelled into his empty room almost loud enough to shake the garage door. Taken a deep breath David’s shaky hands tugged on his shirt collar making sure it was neat. He never knew why but it was just a reaction when he got worried.
“David, what are you doing? Shouldn’t you be saving your mother?” his lips whispered out.
“No, no… She died, we can’t bring her back. We need to stick to the plan.” David mumbled.
“Don’t say that about mother, she is alive. Waiting. Waiting for you to bring her new heart.” David snickered to himself.
“No! I am not letting you get to me again.” Screamed David as he ran to the desk sitting in the corner. The desk was covered in black notebooks which David flung onto the floor. “Where are they?! Where are my pills?!” David said panicking as he started to hear the beating. The beating grew louder and louder, it pounded into David’s head as he fell onto the floor in pain. His eyes focused on the wooden box that sat on the other side of the room. He watched it shake, as what was inside tried to break free.
David started to hear a voice; it was sweet and calming to the ears as the pounding slowly faded, “David, what is wrong? Why don’t you talk to me? I’ll help you make the pain go away son.”
David began to cry as he laid on the floor. “What must I do mom, what must I do to have the pain go away?”
“Bring your mother the heart she needs so badly.” Twisted out of David’s mouth.
“Of course” David stated as he stood up and walked to the door grabbing his drench coat and threw it on over his wrinkly dress shirt. His hands checked the pockets as the music of metal clinging rang into his ears bring a smile. “A new heart is the answer”
