His fiery stare burned though me as he looked beyond me, beyond everything. Some could say he was egotistical, but not I. This man was more then a man I’m not ever sure if you could consider him a man. “CODE 159! CODE 159! REPEATE CODE 159! EVERYONE GET TO YOUR POSITIONS!” The alarm blared unanticipated. Everyone started to run around franticly as the floor began to shake. Almost losing my balance I stabled myself against the wall; only to look up and gaze at the now vacant corridor.
“What are you doing?” Came from behind me as I turned around to be looking at the captain.
“I was just…” I started to stutter.
“Just get to your position.” He said in a serious tone as he walked past me.
“Yes sir.” I said as I walked behind him.
We walked down the hall to the bridge of the ship where I took my seat in front of a terminal. The captain sat in his chair, “Stats report?” he shouted.
“We have been confronted by three MS-09s on starboard” Said one of the men from behind his terminal.
“Damage report?”
“We have sustained major damage to the starboard side and sections 028 to 034 have been closed by unstable pressure.” Said another man his terminal blinking with red lights.
“What do we have to send out?”
“Sir, most of our units are still damaged from out battle before the only fully functional unit at the moment is Fatum.” I said as I looked down at the screen in front of me.
“Alright, let’s launch Fatum then and the others as soon as their flyable” The captain said as he sat back in his chair tensed.
My hand traveled down the panel in front of me flipping a switch as I placed my headset on. “Fatum, you has permission to launch, we have three MS-09s on starboard side and already suffering heavy damage. Estimated 20 minutes till a back-up unit will be ready.”
“Affirmative.” Was the only word that came back from the other end.
“Opening hatch C3, launch in 10.” My hand flipped another switch showing the hatch opening on the monitor revealing the Fatum the only MS-X unit ever made. The Government decided that the unit cost too much after they completed the prototype. Standing 60 feet tall made by special titanium that was basically indestructible. The two large jets on its back flared on as it rose into the darkness of space.
“Sir, Fatum has launched.” I said to the captain.
Fatum flew though the space air with grace confronting the three MS-09s who noticed him right away as they fired at him. Fatum released three orbs that flew in front of him creating a force field to deflect the attack. Quickly Fatum pulled its cannon as the three units advanced. A beam of light flew from the cannon turning one of the MS-09s into scrap metal.
The remain two MSF-09s split paths as they trapped Fatum between them and launched their weapons. “Fatum, watchout!” I yelled over the headset as Fatum’s jets turned back on and flew forward, the orbs stayed behind him blocking the explosion of two shots hitting each other from causing any damage. Spinning around Fatum fired another shot, destroying another unit. The bridge began to cheer in excitement. “Fatum your cannon only has enough charge for one more shot.”
“One shot is all I need.” Fatum said back as the last unit was taken down.
The captain started to relax in his chair, “Alright boys, lets bring him back-” he said only to be interrupted by a loud beeping from one of the other terminals.
“Sir we have a unit coming in fast; starboard.” said the man behind the terminal.
“Fatum, we have an unknown unit flying towards you.” I yelled over the set.
“I have visual contact.” Said Fatum.
“Sir we have a class MSD-01” the man from behind the terminal hollered.
“Fuck” was the only word able to come out of the captain’s mouth. The MSD-01 is the top of the destroyer class. Its mix of lightweight movement and its tremendously powerful arsenal makes it very dangerous.
“Fatum the unit is a MSD-01 take caution.” I noted into the headset.
“Sir, we have an incoming transmission.” said one of the men.
“Patch it though and also get Fatum on.” Said the captain
The large screen in the bridge flipped on, one side show the enemies’ face the other show the pilot of the Fatum. That man with his same burning stare.
“This is the Skuld, I demand you lower your weapons and surrender.” snickered the man.
“I can not allow that.” Said the pilot from Fatum.
“And who would you be?”
“We would be the Fatum” watching the screen the Fatum flew in front of the Skuld.
“If it isn’t the famous MS-X model, well it must have been destiny that brought you to me.”
“The only destiny I have is death, which will not be delivered by you.” Fatum said as the screen clicked off. Fatum charged forward only to have Skuld quickly move behind him and fired. Fatum’s shield quickly rose and blocked the attack.
“Ah, and orb class shield. Very nice, only problem with them is if you don’t have at least three orbs it is useless” I heard over my headset as Skuld shot again, this time aiming at one of the orbs and destroying it.
“Fatum, you’re in over your head just hold out for another 10 minutes till another unit can make it out!” I blared
“You should listen to your friend.” Snickered Skuld
“How did you get in on this line?!” I roared.
“Did you forget I’m a MSD-01 unit, it would only be right for me to be able to tap onto another unit’s frequency. It just one more tool to make sure I destroy everyone that gets in my way.”
“I already told you, I will not be destroyed by you.” Fatum smirked as he flew into Skuld trying to grab him only to miss.
“Useless” said Skuld as he danced around Fatum who drew out its energy sword. Swing his sword Skuld easily evaded each swing. “You really don’t learn do you?”
“No it is you who don’t learn” Fatum said as he sung one more time, only to have Skuld move back in between the two remaining shield orbs which had turned on creating a laser between them slicing Skuld in half.
The ship became ecstatic by the battle that just happened and it was all because of that man.
