I might be able to understand why many people raved on The Cable Guy. it was so terrible, too dark, overexaggerated, and whatnot. now, a decade later, we've seen Carrey actually act, as opposed to the self-absorbed (although extremely hilarious) Ace Ventura and Dumb and Dumber movies. not only that, but I know someone who parallels Carrey's

Don't expect any serenity after watching Old Boy. Great film and an amazing score, but feel-good it ain't.
