If the tooth is infected and causing you pain, you might be able to have it taken out by an emergency room dentist at a hospital. But sometimes they just send you home, so it can be a bit of a hassle to try that route.
Are you sure it needs to be pulled? Most dentists don't want to pull a tooth that can be saved.
emergency room dentist? never even knew they had those. My tooth has already had a root canal done on it, and has turned black and started deteriorating on the other side of it. I don't think it can be saved at this point. It's at a dangerous stage where any food left inside the crevice and cause a bacterial infection. so i dunno. :S wish i could just pull it out myself..
e.r. dentists are called in for people who are in accidents and therefore need dental work. An absess can be life threatening (can cause blood poisoning, and/or infect the jaw bone) so the emerg might determine that to be an emergency. I don't know how the hospitals in Toronto handle that.
