Hey, you know what's depressing? When you're an Ivy League alumnus and you go on LinkedIn and sites like that, and see what your classmates have accomplished that you haven't. my friend Bob Zubrycki from junior high in the orchestral credits of Ric Burns's New York. I think it was around the time that aired that I last tried to look him up and failed.

Oh, man, he plays for Leon? I wonder if I've sung with him and not known it!

I copyedited some of Patton Oswalt's college-magazine humor pieces.

I was also the magazine's other, crappier humor columnist. My specialty was giant lists!
