The bank couldn't have called me?

Apparently my ATM card was "compromised by a third party" on Tuesday, and that's why every cash machine I tried to use yesterday spit out a cryptic "This transaction cannot be completed at this time" message, instead of $20 bills.

WORST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER.

At least I got good presents from my cricketnyc and others. That helps balance it out.

Oh argh, that sucks! There has been a real rash of ATM theft this year (it happened to me not once but twice! as well as to several of my coworkers) -- is your bank Citibank by any chance?

I suspect it was the sketchy deli ATM that I got cash from last Saturday. It should have been a warning sign that they were only charging a 99 cent fee, in the middle of the LES.

The Wal-Mart machine decided to wait until all the 'grace uses' were used up before telling my mom that the wrong PIN was being entered. Then something told us we could call the bank to fix it...that was wrong. Sigh.

We had to enter the bank.
