Introduction:
It turns out that watching cinema classics, several decades after their release is a curiously underwhelming experience :)

When I started reading your post, I was laughing when you said that you were watching classics and then started talking about “Pulp Fiction”!!

But I like your point a lot. I imagine that it holds no less true when trying to understand the Old Testament that I have been book-blogging. Even so, since I’m not going to be an expert of life in ancient Mesopotamia and the Levant, I still feel some personal value in simply trying to develop my own understanding of what still intrigues me. I just have to understand that it cannot be a serious piece of work, say, something that merits publication, but that’s what I love about LJ. We can just fuck around. ;)

Huh? And I thought I could safely regard "Pulp Fiction" as a classic because it was made almost two decades ago! :)

but that’s what I love about LJ. We can just fuck around. ;)
