ah, excellent, do you know when "later" is? my current contract expires in june, so I'm in no rush, am only starting to look.

hopefully iphone 3 will also be able to handle the 900mhz range that appears to be the replacement for cdma!

pocketgear.com has heaps of apps for windows based mobiles, and i had a bit of a squiz last night. they all seem fairly cool but rather expensive in comparison to iphone apps

The iPhone 3 OS is expected around late spring / early summer in the US.

It will be a free upgrade to all iPhone owners.

It features many things people have been complaining about:
- cut and paste
- MMS
- landscape mode in mail, SMS and notes
- stereo bluetooth support

Personally, I really like my iPhone 3G. I have had quite a few smart phones, and this is definitely the one I've used most to date. However, it is on an unlimited data plan - I don't know if my opinion would be different on a restricted plan.

yeah, I've been using my mobile for internet a bit recently, and have discovered that the PAYG 10$/month for 5mb if you use it, 0 if you don't is great if you don't use it very often, but in comparison to 5$/month for 100mb, isn't actually that great!

shops are open again tomorrow so I'll have a gander :)

if the N96 really does take your fancy, Nokia is rumoured to be putting up and app store aggregator later this month too, which will make finding Symbian apps easier.

well, it is a nokia, which is good because that's the only mobile phone i've ever used, hence no learning new menu systems etc, and it does handle the 900mhz range with is the replacement for cdma.

other than that, i would prefer an iphone :P

but the app thing sounds good and makes it more likely that I'll get the nokia if reception weighs higher than coolness
